My Bebu and I

How I met my Bebu

Bebu

I met my bebu at work around July 2024. She was so quiet and timid. She barely spoke to anyone and always kept to herself. She moved gently, never made noise, and always stayed in her own space doing her tasks quietly. At first, I thought she was just very shy or maybe preferred to be alone, so I didn’t dare approach her right away, I just watched her from afar.

But little by little, I started noticing her more. I saw how hardworking she was, how careful she was with every task, and how she always did her best without being told. I knew exactly how she felt because I also came from a long-term relationship that ended, so I understood the pain, the heaviness, and how hard it is to heal.

But around April 2025, I noticed she was different. I saw her posts on facebook and found out she was brokenhearted from her past relationship. My heart felt heavy seeing her sad and hurting. I really felt bad for her and wanted so much to comfort her and help her feel better somehow.

When I came home from my birthday travel that same month, I gathered the courage and I asked her to tell me all about it. I wanted her to let it all out, to know she didn’t have to carry the pain alone, and that I was there to listen and understand her completely.

Then after her “3 month rule”, exactly 3 months after her breakup, she was the one who confessed her feelings to me. I was so surprised but also so happy, because all this time I already admired her and cared about her more than she knew.

She told me everything, how she noticed me too, how she felt safe and comfortable with me, and how slowly I became the person who made her smile again even without me trying. I told her I felt the same way, that I admired her for so long, and that I understood every bit of what she went through.

She is no longer just the quiet hardworking girl I admired from afar. She is now my bebu, my happiness, and the person I want to take care of.
